History of International Intrinsic Passion Development Association (IIPDA)

Intrinsic International is grounded in the belief that everyone human being is born with a divine work, prepared in advance according to Ephesians 2 vs 10. Work when applied with wisdom positively impact human lives. Self-reflection and a determination to find fulfilling work led to the development of IIPDA.

Over a year ago, the vision of championing the cause of developing talents and abilities of our children from an early age was shared with a group of like-minded individuals who willing embraced the idea. Together we have been working and continue to bring awareness to this important need.

We are created beings and are to be involved in the purposes for which we are created. When peoples’ talents are not used effectively and in desired ways, they fail to accomplish purposes and gain life satisfaction. “No man is born into the world whose work is not born with him” James Russell Lowell (as cited in Watson, 1979).

Research indicates there are many who are stuck in unfulfilling jobs owing to job choices made without a calling or passion. There is also an indication of positive co-relation with intrinsic motivation and positive jobs outcomes and life satisfaction. Based on our own experiences we desire to not only pursue our passions, but to help others identify and fulfil theirs.

Research also shows the significant benefits of identifying and developing talents and abilities from an early age. Children develop their sense of identity, self-awareness, independence, competency and identification of strengths and weaknesses between the ages of 6 to 14, Eccles (1999).

Studies also highlight the importance of developing the uniqueness of each child in a holistic manner. The holistic development of children is critical to self-actualization. According to Crowley (2011), given the right support people are virtually unlimited. Research also shows:

  • Youths who find purpose early are happier than their peers.
  • Youths who are engaged in their purpose find it easier to overcome the challenges of life.
  • The search for purpose in conjunction with life satisfaction in the adolescence and emerging adult stages of life is greater than in the adult stage of life.

IIPDA seeks to develop the talents of our children for use according to God’s purpose. “We are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” Ephesians 2:10
